Hopkins Log Burners's recently published case study looks at the installation of a Fireline FTW-3 Tracery Door in conjunction with a 5'' Black TW PRO flue. The client was based in Pontrhydyfen - a small village in the Afan Valley with the job presenting some unique challenges for the Hopkins engineer. A hearth and surround were already in place at the property, necessitating the removal and resizing of the space to accommodate the new stove.
The company's technicians are adept at these types of resizing jobs, bringing accuracy and expertise to every project. In this case, careful measurements ensured that the Fireline stove aligned perfectly with the reconfigured opening. This included a new exit hole for the flue that avoided any interference with an upstairs window.
The study explains that the use of two 45-degree elbow flue pipes allowed for vertical installation at the pipe end. In all cases, Hopkins' engineers ensure that all installations meet with safety regulations including the requisite smoke tests and efficiency checks.
The completed installation combines traditional charm with modern functionality, keeping the entire ground floor of the property warm and suffused with a welcoming ambiance. The use of a tiled inlay door and arched filigree ensures the installation retains the original character of the house.
