-- Other Worlders has launched a new source-linked UFO statistics hub that brings official United States government records, civilian reporting totals, reported locations, shapes and historical comparisons into one downloadable resource.
The new resource reports that the National UFO Reporting Center, known as NUFORC, listed 4,578 reports with sighting dates in calendar year 2025. Its live Reports by Month index listed another 1,886 reports dated from January through 21 August 2026 when checked by Other Worlders. The 2026 figure includes a partial August and can change as late or backdated reports are processed.
These figures measure records in a civilian reporting system. They are not counts of confirmed extraterrestrial craft, verified physical objects or unique events.
The hub separates those civilian totals from figures published by the United States Department of Defense’s All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office, known as AARO. According to its 2025 consolidated annual report, AARO held 1,870 unidentified anomalous phenomena reports as of 30 May 2025.
During its latest published reporting period, from 2 June 2024 to 30 May 2025, AARO received 319 incoming reports. Of those, 114 were resolved as prosaic objects or events and 191 were transferred to an active archive pending corroborating data.
“UFO statistics are often repeated without the denominator, reporting period or limits that give the number meaning,” said B48, author and editor at Other Worlders. “We wanted every headline figure to show what was counted, where it came from and what the data cannot establish.”
Location data is included with the same qualification. California led NUFORC’s cumulative United States location index with 17,262 reports when checked on 21 August 2026. The hub identifies this as a raw cumulative report count, not a population-adjusted rate or evidence that unexplained objects occur more frequently in California.
The release includes seven charts with accessible data tables, source links for every headline statistic, copy-ready citations and downloadable CSV and JSON files. Readers can compare AARO resolution outcomes, morphology and altitude data, NUFORC monthly and state aggregates, Project Blue Book figures and the composition of the Other Worlders archive.
The interactive UFO sightings map provides access to 184 source-linked archive records. Findings from that collection are labelled as the composition of a curated archive and are not presented as representative of worldwide UFO incidence.
Other Worlders has limited its use of NUFORC material to published month-level and state-level aggregates. It does not scrape, reproduce or redistribute individual NUFORC reports.
The UFO Sighting Statistics hub is available now and will be reviewed quarterly, with earlier updates when AARO, NUFORC or another primary source publishes a material change.
